Last Saturday I decided to have a lunch at Plan B Spanish Resto. I actually found out about this resto a few days ago in post from a fellow blogger Ferna in her blog
http://fernavventura.blogspot.com :D
Arriving at the spot, I noticed nothing special about the exterior. The location was quite hard to find. Located inside a small Ruko (Ruko Permata Senayan), the restaurant itself is not visible from the road.
As I got inside, I noticed that all of the guests were expatriates! They were also quite loaded considering the timing and location. We got seated and as we started with the menu, we went flipping hopelessly through the pages as we know nothing about spanish food! Finally we called a waitress who very kindly answered all of our questions. And here are our orders!
|
Spanish Omelette (Tortilla de Patata) / Rp29k |
I ordered this because the waitress said this is one of their favourite menu. It turned out quite nice. The potato was soft, the egg was a bit runny inside but quite crispy on the outside. What I like very much is the bread because it was crispy!!! Overall, the dish was not really bursting with flavour but I like it just fine.

Green Peppers Stuffed with Prawns / Rp33k |
The picture might look unappealing, but I assure you, this dish actually tasted really good. According to our waitress, this is one of the most ordered dish and I have no wonder why. The green pepper, I think, lost its spicy/bitter taste in the processing so all it contributed to the dish was texture. The filling made up for the lost tho, because it was not too soft and it tasted good! The sauce was also delicious. It was a bit spicy, and the taste kinda remind me of jalapeño (maybe it is one of the ingredients?)

Toasted Baguette with Salmon, Cream Cheese, and Gherkin / Rp33k |
Well, Salmon and cream cheese. Who could resist the combination? Especially when they come on top of a wheat bread with a gherkin (some sort of pickled cucumber) on top. Tasted nice, just as expected :D
|
Spaghetti with Prawns / Rp40k |
My dad ordered this one. Both pasta and prawns were cooked nicely. Good thing they got fresh shrimps. You could tell they use premium olive oil (and they actually do!) from the fresh and non-greasy taste. A bit spicy but nothing too overwhelming. Nice pasta!
|
Lemon Tart with Merengue and Toffee Sauce / Rp28k |
I'm a dessert person so ordering a dessert is a must for me. I asked a waiter which dessert is the most ordered one and he said the lemon tart is. The crust was crispy and it kinda balanced the sour taste of the lemon. Usually I'm the type of person who avoid the crust but not today! The merengue was also fluffy and nice, not too sweet for my liking.
|
Mosaic Coffee / Rp28k |
My mom picked this one. I don't really know what the components are but here are my guesses: The bottom layer was soaked chiffon. Soaked in what, that's what I'm not really sure. Coffee maybe, or rhum. But I definitely think this dish contains some alcohol! Then the next layer was liquid coffee mousse and on top were almonds. Scrrrumptious!
|
Spanish Creme Brûlée with Burnt Cinnamon Sugar / Rp28k |
My sister was the one tempted by this dish. I don't eat a lot of creme brulee so I can't really compare, but I think they over-burnt the sugar a bit because although the layer was perfectly crispy, parts of it tasted a bit bitter. The inside was delicious tho!
|
Seafood Pudding San Sebastian Style / Rp39k |
Well, my mother noticed this dish AFTER we had everything so we had an appetizer as our last dish hahah. Again, the bread was perfectly crispy. Man they just know how to serve perfect bread. The pudding itself was nice. It got the fresh seafood taste without the smell. Personal opinion: this is definitely a dish you need to share, because although it tasted light, eating too much of the pudding could be overwhelming. Oh and maybe some more of the sauce would be nice.
Overall, it was a pleasant lunch, especially with the super friendly chef, Oscar, greeting every guest present. The
prices were also very reasonable. If you're planning a visit, do keep in mind that they are closed on Sundays!
